Kim Lambert

Licensed Professional Counselor

Meet Kim

I began my career over 28 years ago as a crisis intervention specialist in a hospital working with children who had experienced trauma.  When I began to notice a pattern of rehospitalization after the children were successfully discharged, I realized the importance of working with the entire family in order to make lasting changes.

It was then that my passion for counseling grew and I began my journey to what I believe is my true calling.  Since then, I have worked with individuals of all ages in a wide variety of settings and have had the privilege to witness life-changing transformations in those with whom I have worked.

Kim Lambert, LPC

Background

Throughout my career, I worked with adults with serious mental health and substance abuse issues as they transitioned out of the state and local hospitals.  I facilitated educational and support groups throughout the community for family members and caregivers of the mentally ill while partnering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Education Consultant

As a school counselor and director of student services, I created interventions for students with disabilities and special needs and developed school-wide programs which focused on social and emotional development.  Working in a school system for 18 years afforded me the unique perspective of understanding the dynamics of an educational system, which has been invaluable for those who work in education and to families feeling frustrated by "the system."  In simple terms... I get it.  I understand both the parents' and teachers' perspectives.

Approachable

Those who know me would describe me as genuine, down-to-earth, and non-judgmental. I enjoy spending time with my family and playing with my rescue dog, Cooper.

What separates me from others is that I have faced and overcome many challenges throughout my life that help me understand and relate to others on a personal, authentic level.
